Al Muhajirin Purwakarta Islamic College (STAI) lecturer Dian Ikha Pramayanti shares tips so that micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) products can be marketed well on social media.

"So, the steps that must be taken so that MSME products can be marketed well via social media are first about selecting the platform used, understanding the target audience, creating an attractive business profile, producing interesting and relevant content, and conducting analysis or work evaluation," he said in a press release received on Sunday.

He conveyed this in a digital literacy workshop with the theme "Achieving Profit in the Digital Era: Overcoming Barriers to Selling Online" organized by the Ministry of Communication and Information together with the Cyberkreasi National Digital Literacy Movement (GNLD) in West Java.

Dian explained that there are four social media platforms that can be used in various ways to promote MSME products.

He gave an example, TikTok is effective for building a personal image, while WhatsApp is useful for introducing products, promotions, or interacting with consumers.

Facebook and Instagram can also be used for personal branding and attracting buyers and introducing products.

MSME players, he said, are currently developing rapidly. Throughout Indonesia, the number of MSMEs in 2022 will reach 8.71 million units. These MSME players are starting to use online marketing methods to attract more customers, including sales via social media.

He further said that selling MSME products via social media has a number of advantages, such as being able to increase product sales, making it easier to receive input or feedback from customers regarding the products being sold, and expanding marketing targets.

"Through social media, product targets become clearer or easier to know through customer or consumer responses," he said.

Meanwhile, Communication Practitioner Andi Widya revealed that there are a number of interesting features from various social media platforms that can help optimize product sales.

These features include live chat which can help potential buyers see directly the products they are interested in, botchat which can send information to customers more quickly, as well as a feed feature which can highlight product visualizations and product promotion tools.

“There is also a shop follow voucher feature. This feature can increase followers so that more customers become marketing targets. "Then there is an affiliate program feature, which is a program to earn commissions by promoting a company's products," he said.

Andi said, in promoting products via social media platforms, sellers must have the ability to describe the product in detail.

Make sure to include good product photos. Apart from that, maintaining the quality of the products sold is also very important so that problems do not arise for customers regarding quality. Products can also be sold in conjunction with promotional programs or discount offers.

This digital literacy workshop is one of a series of activities in the Indonesia Increasingly Digital Capable program initiated by the Ministry of Communication and Information together with GNLD Siberkreasi.
