Google launched a special discount search page on its Search engine, coinciding with the year-end shopping and holiday season.
"Today we launched a new destination for offers on Search that helps you find discounted products from various sites in one place," said Product Director, Consumer Shopping at Google Danielle Buckley in a broadcast on Google's official blog, Wednesday (7/11) local time .
The deal or offer page on Google Search contains products that are much sought after during the year-end shopping season, for example clothing, electronic goods, toys and beauty products. Armed with Shopping Graph, Google's data set about products and shopping, Google Search collects discount information from various sellers, including from large franchises, retailers, luxury brands to local stores.
Google will create groups based on what is commonly purchased when using the platform.
Apart from Search, the discount search feature is also embedded in the Google Chrome browser, which will load products that have been searched for via the "Resume browsing" (continue searching) feature. Chrome will notify you if the product has a promotion.
Google will also provide discount labels for products that appear on shopping pages. Sellers can manage the promotions they provide in the Merchant Center settings.
Google Chrome is also equipped with a price monitoring feature called Shopping Insights to view the promotion history of a product for the past 90 days.
