Deputy Minister of Communication and Information (Wamenkominfo) Nezar Patria stated that the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) fully supports Indonesia's efforts to build and develop an Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE).

According to Nezar, this support was conveyed directly by ITU Secretary General Doreen Bogdan-Martin in a bilateral meeting between ITU and Indonesia.

“The ITU Secretary General expressed his support for initiatives that are currently developing Indonesia. "In fact, according to him, follow-up will be carried out immediately between the Ministry of Communication and Information and ITU," said Nezar in a statement in Kyoto, Japan, Tuesday.

The bilateral meeting between Indonesia and ITU is part of a series of events at the 2023 Internet Governance Forum (IGF) which will take place in Kyoto, Japan.

As part of President Joko Widodo's instructions, the implementation of SPBE is an important part of Indonesia's progress by making it easier for people to get government digital services.

Nezar is of the opinion that efforts to realize SPBE nationally are being accelerated so that public services in Indonesia can be well integrated and run effectively and efficiently.

"One of the benefits of SPBE will be to make it easier for people to access the nearest health services that are good and according to their needs. "This service will also support economic growth in Indonesia," said Nezar.

Until 2023, there are nine applications that are the focus of the Indonesian Government for SPBE, namely SIM issuance services, dare crowd permits, social assistance, health services, education services, digital identity based on population data, one Indonesian data service, financial transactions, integration portal services , and state apparatus services.

At this time, the Ministry of Communication and Information plays the role of sector leader for SPBE-SPBE developers.

"The Ministry of Communication and Information has become a kind of Chief Technical Officer - CTO for digital transformation in Indonesia," he said.
