Tips for Overcoming Data Leaks and How to Overcome It for Co

Data is a valuable asset for companies and organizations, and is now facing greater risks due to potential data leaks lurking in every corner of cyberspace.

“In recent years, we have witnessed a significant increase in cyberattacks aimed at stealing sensitive and valuable data, including customer data. "The existence of this data can be used by cybercriminals for various purposes, such as fraud, extortion, or even sold on the black market," said cyber security expert and snc.id Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Bruce Hanadi in his statement, Tuesday.

Bruce then shared his views and tips on how companies can handle and overcome data leaks.

According to Bruce, there are several factors that cause data leaks, including cyber attacks, internal incidents, carelessness, and vulnerabilities in the applications and software used by the company.

To protect customer data, Bruce emphasized the need for companies to take proactive steps.

“First, companies must improve their network security by using advanced security technology and carrying out regular updates. "In addition, customer data must be encrypted while in storage and when moving between systems," he said.

Bruce also emphasized the importance of employee training regarding data security.

“Data leaks often occur due to negligence or human error. Therefore, companies must provide regular data security training to their employees so they are aware of potential threats and know how to overcome them, he explained.

The use of a dual authentication system is an important step to reduce the risk of unauthorized access. “In addition, companies must also use sophisticated monitoring tools to detect suspicious or unusual activity on their systems,” said Bruce.

Finally, for companies that do not yet have the capability to handle cyber attacks, it is recommended to collaborate with third parties to prevent and resolve cyber attack problems.
