LinkedIn: 65 Percent of Job Skills Change by 2030 due to AI

The world's largest professional network, LinkedIn projects that the skills needed for various types of jobs in the world will change by at least 65 percent by 2030, as the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) accelerates change.

“AI is taking us to a new world of work, reshaping jobs, business and industry. "With these many changes occurring, business leaders must assess the skills needed now and in the following years," said Country Leader Indonesia at LinkedIn Rohit Kalsy in a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday.

He explained that professionals in Indonesia are the most enthusiastic about using AI in their work (99 percent) compared to other markets in Asia Pacific, such as Australia (84 percent), Singapore (97 percent), Malaysia (96 percent), and Japan ( 75 percent).

"Nearly 67 percent of professionals in Indonesia are also looking forward to using AI to get career advice or handle difficult situations at work," he said.

Through research, LinkedIn also recorded an increase in job vacancies that mention AI or Generative AI by more than 2.4 times and the number of applications up to 1.7 times in Southeast Asia during the 2021-2023 period, compared to job vacancies that do not mention AI or Generative A.I.

In addition, the majority of HR workers globally or up to 80 percent believe that AI will help work over the next five years to focus on more strategic and humane roles, strengthen relationships with candidates and employees, and do more creative work .

“HR is in a central position to ensure a business has the talent and skills it needs. "AI will also become an important tool, which helps them to focus on human aspects, such as establishing connections and building relationships with employee candidates and cultivating a strong company culture," said Kalsy.

To help organizations keep up with the changing world of work, LinkedIn is testing new generative AI features in the Recruiter and Learning Hub with a number of users, which it plans to roll out in stages.

One of them is Recruiter 2024, which will provide the latest recruitment experience with the help of AI, which can make the recruitment process easier and more efficient, so that leaders can focus on strategic and employee-centric work.

Through this feature, recruiters can search in general language such as "I want to recruit a senior growth marketing leader". Then, LinkedIn's AI features will help analytics to provide candidate recommendations, based on unique insights from more than 950 million professionals, 63 million companies, and 40,000 skills in the network.

Another feature that is currently being tested is AI-based skills training with the nature of the service in the form of real-time advice, on basic abilities with the highest interest in all types of work fields, namely leadership and management.

Users can ask questions like “How do I delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively?” Then, instead of giving general answers, this feature will ask for clarification to better understand the situation and then provide advice, examples, and feedback based on hundreds of pieces of content on LinkedIn Learning.
