Many Innovative Startups Grow Relying on Technology Adoption

Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Nezar Patria stated that more and more local innovative and creative startup companies are growing and developing by relying on the adoption of the latest digital technology such as the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

Quoted from a press release received on Thursday, the Deputy Minister of Communication and Information saw the potential for local startups in almost all sectors to have the opportunity to increase the birth of new unicorns and decacorns created by the nation's children.

He believes that Indonesia's digital startups have made a big contribution to national economic growth. Therefore, he said, the government, in this case the Ministry of Communication and Information, will continue to provide massive support.

"I think if it becomes a unicorn, it will definitely be developed even bigger, maybe it will become a decacorn. "There will be many investors coming and Kominfo, in this case, full backup for any needs (according to startup needs)," he said after visiting the eFishery office in Bandung, Wednesday (27/9).

Previously, Deputy Minister Nezar visited two other startup companies, namely Feedloop AI and Evermos. After long discussions with the three start-up companies, he emphasized the government's commitment to providing space for innovation so that the work of the nation's children continues to develop.

He said that his party would fully support startups related to informatics, including opening networks with the digital community ecosystem which is being worked on by the Ministry of Communication and Information, including through digital literacy.

"We are preparing capable digital talent, because the plan (target) is to have at least 50 million people who are digitally literate. "Then there will be 9 million digital talents (Digital Talent Scholarship/DTS Program) within five years," he said.

According to Deputy Minister Nezar, digital literacy and DTS training programs will continue to be carried out targeting more people to be able to take advantage of digital economic opportunities, including those involved in the startup industry.

"We continue to encourage these programs and we can see the results of some growth in this ecosystem, opening up new job opportunities, providing innovations that are very useful in helping society. "I think this is one of the positive and productive impacts of the efforts carried out by startups supported by Kominfo," said Nezar, concluding his explanation.
